Nontraditional Transportation Services
Nontraditional transportation utilizes vehicles from other agencies, businesses and organizations. We focus on developing collaborative community-based transportation networks that will benefit the rural underserved areas, with the ultimate goal of developing a cross-sectional and interlinked transportation service for rural populations.
HealthTran encourages long term care facilities, religious organizations, and other community agencies to expand and/or allow their vehicles, during downtimes, to be used for transport. We also believe transit professionals can push the margins of their operations to after-hours, weekends, and other nontraditional times, and eventually revenue share rides between agencies.
